For whom is environmental management with ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 is applicable to every organization. The overview of certified organizations shows that organizations in both industry and services, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small, are ISO 14001 certified.
For both large and small organizations
Every organization has, to a greater or lesser extent, an impact on the environment. If it is not through the organization’s own activities, then it is through the purchasing of products and services. The ISO 14001 standard specifies what must be arranged in the management system. The organization determines its own implementation. When an organization has a limited number of environmental aspects and environmental risks, the management system is tailored to that. Our example (in Dutch) of an environmental management system for a small transport company shows what such a management system can look like.
