Implementation ISO 50001 / ISO 14001 CO2-reduction
To set up a management system, SCCM has developed a practical step plan so it is clear where you can start and what you need to do to set up a complete management system. The step plan consists of 10 process-related and substantive steps. Although the step plan was developed for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, it is also applicable to ISO 50001.
Which certificate do you choose?
Which certificate do you choose when it comes to energy management?
- ISO 14001
For organizations that, in addition to energy, also have other environmental aspects. Energy consumption is limited in scope and use is easy to control. Does not have the EED energy audit obligation, but does support the information and/or investigation obligation for energy savings.
- ISO 14001 + CO2 reduction management level 1
For organizations that, in addition to energy, also have other environmental aspects. Energy consumption is limited in scope and/or use is easy to control. Also has the EED energy audit obligation. Demonstrates (also for organizations not subject to EED) that there is structural attention to control and savings of energy.
- ISO 14001 + CO2 reduction management level 2
In addition to the points mentioned at level 1, the conversion to CO2 and reporting information on CO2 emissions are important.
- ISO 14001 + ISO 50001
For organizations that, in addition to energy, also want to demonstrably control other environmental aspects. Energy consumption is substantial and/or controlling energy use requires a lot of attention. Also has the EED energy audit obligation and supports the information and/or investigation obligation for energy savings.
- ISO 50001
For organizations where, besides energy, there are hardly any other environmental aspects. Energy consumption is substantial and controlling energy use requires a lot of attention. Also has the EED energy audit obligation and supports the information and/or investigation obligation for energy savings.
Continuous improvement
The energy policy is aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions within the organization itself and continuously improving performance. The organization must be able to demonstrate that it has insight into the possibilities to reduce energy consumption in the short and long term and, where possible, realize opportunities for the production of sustainable energy. These opportunities are expressed in energy objectives and the organization’s strategic policy, making the ambition for improvement visible.
