Implementation of ISO 45001

To set up a management system, SCCM has developed a practical step-by-step plan so it is clear where you can start and what you need to do to establish a complete management system.

Step plan

The step plan of 10 process-related and substantive steps. The plan includes references to various SCCM information sheets. In the information sheets, we provide a practical approach to how you can work out certain topics in the management system. These approaches are examples for setting up an environmental and/or occupational health and safety management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Continuous improvement

The OH&S policy is focused on identifying and limiting risks and on continuous improvement. The organization must be able to demonstrate that it has insight into opportunities to improve employee health and safety. For example, in many organizations a substantial part of sickness absence is caused by risks that fall into the category of psychosocial workload (PSA), such as work pressure and inappropriate behaviour. ISO 45001 requires that all hazards are identified and risks assessed. The ISO 45003 standard provides an explanation of the standard. It is not mandatory to use it.

Through strategy and clear objectives, the organization makes its ambition for improvement visible.
